- What insurance cover do NSEA members have?
The NSEA affiliated (named) riding squad members and the Team Manager have third party public liability cover, including member to member cover. Details of this can be found on the NSEA website.
- Can a pupil at the school be the Team Manager?
No, they must be a member of staff, approved parent or coach. However, they can assist the Team Manager.
- Who can be a Team Manger?
A member of staff, riding coach or parent, providing the school gives permission.
- Can I compete if I am home tutored/ home schooled?
Yes.
- Is the NSEA just for independent schools?
No, there is an even split 50/50 of state & independent schools that compete.
- How long has the NSEA been running?
The NSEA is a not for profit company that was founded in 1991 to promote and co-ordinate inter-schools equestrian competitions.
It has spent many years working to develop good relations with non-horsey Head Teachers in order that they may gain a better understanding of their pupils who spend many hours pursuing their passion for horses and who would like to represent their school in equestrian sports in the same way as hockey / netball
- Do you have to be a member to compete?
Yes, please go to membership pagesĀ on the website to sign up.
- Can two different schools compete together to make up a team?
Not unless they are the junior department for a senior school and have the same Headteacher/ governors.
